Description
We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our accounting organization and become a major contributor to our accounting team. As a key member of the UK and global accounting team, this individual will be based in London. A successful candidate in this position will have demonstrable experience with financial reporting and internal control responsibilities.
The role has responsibility for the oversight and accounting function in supporting UK operations. Accounting flows are run in multiple legal entities with the participation of a number of stakeholders in different locations.
In addition to accounting and reporting responsibilities, the individual will lead cross-border projects and develop best practices in operations and control at the international level. They will also lead policy implementation with Amazon's location-based financial leadership team around the world.
Candidates for this position will have held supervisory or managerial positions in companies with annual revenues of less than one billion, have worked for a large public accounting firm at the director level with Fortune 500 clients or equivalent, or have worked in a large corporate audience as a director. Candidates are expected
to demonstrate that they have performed best at their level.
Scope/Main Responsibilities:
In support of the global accounting function, this position contains a mix of operational business accounting responsibilities and new projects including but not limited to:
Ø Representation of the accounting team
Ø Various outputs × prepared to support both internal and external financial reporting needs, including analytical feedback and the preparation of complementary financial analysis for management and other stakeholders.
Ø Lead financial data reviews
Ø Prepare and review monthly balance sheet account adjustments.
Ø Direct responsibility for improving the accounting processes and controls of a company with a large volume of transactions.
Ø Lead the closing activities of the end of a particular month, make sure that the relevant deadlines are met and look for ways to continually improve this process.
Ø Active participation in the launch of the multifunctional project from scoping to testing and launching.
Ø Responsibility for actively engaging with a variety of stakeholders within the business, including the technology team and the management team in business integration projects.
Basic Qualifications
Ø Bachelor/Bachelor required
Ø ACCA, ACA, CIMA or similar credential
Ø Relevant accounting experience (preferably a combination of general accounting/industry)
Ø Exposure to operational accounting concepts for inventory, procurement, payables, receivables and income
Ø Demonstrated the ability to participate in landmark-led projects
Ø Strong desire to exceed expectations
Ø sturdy social, written and voice communication skills.
Ø Strong organizational skills, project management, and IT proficiency
Ideal candidates will be experienced or talented specialists in finance or accounting who have a passion and enthusiasm for accounting and reporting and have experience in the details of the monthly closing cycle, periodic financial reports and related analytical analysis.
The traits we look for in a candidate are a strong desire to exceed expectations, effective interpersonal skills; including compelling written and oral communication, strong organizational skills, the ability to assess and manage risks, and a willingness to get into detail with big picture vision and understanding.
